Bob and his wife Sabra have lived in Lost Creek since 1993, where they raised their sons Thomas (b. 1994) and Daniel (b. 1996). Bob was born in Pennsylvania but mostly grew up in Ohio. He earned his BA from Wesleyan University and his JD from Case Western Reserve University law school. He began his legal career in 1985, and has worked in a private law practice, as in-house counsel in a manufacturing company, and in government. He retired from full-time law practice in 2020 as the general counsel of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Bob is now a part-time solo practitioner in real estate law, primarily representing non-profit organizations in conservation land deals. Bob has served as president of Western Hills Little League and on the advisory board of the Westlake United Methodist Preschool. He enjoys the natural surroundings of Lost Creek, especially the wildlife, and can be seen on our trails and streets with his binoculars and camera, watching and photographing birds, butterflies, and flowers. The organic garden in the Sweeney backyard has produced many bushels of tomatoes and other produce that their neighbors have shared. Bob also enjoys playing tennis and pickleball at Lost Creek Country Club, fishing, golf, attending Austin FC games, and Austin’s live music scene. The most recent addition to the Sweeney family, in 2021, is a friendly black Labrador named Ranger who hopes to meet you someday.
