Lost Creek is proud to be recognized as an International Dark Skies Development of Distinction. This certification demonstrates our commitment to reducing light pollution and protecting our beautiful dark skies for future generations. Lost Creek to date is the first Development of Distinction in Austin and one of three in the state of Texas to achieve this award. In order to maintain this award, we are asking Lost Creek residents to voluntarily be mindful of all outdoor lighting.

Some of the basics include:

• Use lighting only when needed
• Only light the area that needs it
• Be no brighter than necessary
• Minimize blue light emissions
• Be fully shielded (pointing downward)
